The Genesee River, streams, Rushford and Allen lakes are annually stocked with several varieties of trout including browns, rainbow and brookies. Excellent perch and bass fishing is offered at Cuba Lake. The Wellsville area is known for some of the best whitetail deer and wild turkey hunting in the northeast. Six different golf courses offer a great variety of golfing opportunities. The cooler weather brings breathtaking fall foliage. Our colorama is usually at its peak sometime between the third week of September and the second week of October.

The Great Wellsville Balloon Rally: This rally is one of the few rallies in the country that allow spectators on the launch field. A downtown festival also takes place at this time with more than 100 crafters and vendors along with a nearby AntiqueFest.

The Greater Wellsville Trout Derby: Each spring on the last weekend in April tagged trout, caught in the Genesee River, could land lucky anglers large amounts of cash.

The Ridgewalk and Run: This event beckons hundreds of participants on the third Sunday in October each year during peak foilage season. Enjoy the area's scenic beauty as you take part in this cross-country event.

Letchwork and Allegany State Park: Less than an hours drive from Wellsville enjoy waterfalls and unlimited beauty of these State Parks.
